Reading Anxiety
Reading anxiety is a situational form of anxiety involving unpleasant emotional and physical reactions (such as tension, worry, or apprehension) that individuals experience when engaging in or even anticipating reading activities (like reading in front of others).
We are currently exploring how reading anxiety relates to both reading achievement and overall wellbeing.
Reading Engagement
Reading Engagement refers to the physical and cognitive involvement in understanding and learning from written text. Engagement-related experiences can include the amount of reading done and monitoring one’s own understanding of the text at hand.
We are currently identifying the different components of reading engagement and exploring how the different components relate to reading achievement and wellbeing.
Reading Self-Concept
Reading self-concept refers to an individual’s overall belief of their own reading ability, encompassing how difficult they find reading tasks, and their attitudes toward reading as an activity.
We are currently identifying the different components of reading self-concept and exploring how the different components relate to reading achievement and wellbeing.
